Our client is seeking a PAYROLL MANAGER to manage a team of two and all functions related to payroll recording and processing for 800+ employees weekly and semi-monthly. The Payroll Manager will manage projects to improve existing processes or implement new payroll procedures.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Develops and implements payroll procedures, policies and work rules
• Oversees the operation of payroll department
• Coordinates employee benefits enrollments, payments and all aspects of benefits processes
• Compiles and prepares statistical reports, statements, summaries related to payroll and benefits accounts (weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end) for management and HR
• Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
• Reviews payrolls to ensure accuracy
• Maintains employee records and data compliance
• Build strong internal customer relationships and facilitate highest quality of service to internal customers, management and vendors
• Communicate practices, policies and procedures to employees written and orally
• Supervise and provide leadership, direction and coaching for payroll team
• Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of the payroll database and all employee information
• Perform other related work as required
Skills / Requirements
• Four year college degree plus 5 years of payroll experience
• 2 years of supervisory/management experience
• Extensive knowledge of FLSA rules, payroll procedures and administrative requirements related to payroll and personnel processes
• Comprehensive experience with payroll processing and HRIS reporting systems (Ceridian, ADP and Crystal Reports)
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and systems
• Ability to think strategically and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees, management and vendors
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws as they relate to payroll
• Ability to lead team members effectively
